As a walk-in clinic, we provide our patients with several different medical services. When a patient visits us with a sudden injury, we are readily available to deliver top-quality treatment.
Many conditions can be treated at an urgent care facility, from injuries to illnesses. Urgent care is NOT appropriate for life-threatening conditions. If you experience life-threatening emergencies, call 911 or go to a hospital emergency room. However, for basic illnesses or injuries, urgent care is ideal.
Here are a few most common injuries treated at an Urgent Care
Cuts and Lacerations
Our urgent care clinics are great places to go to treat shallow cuts that don’t penetrate the muscle or bone. We can do stitching or other means of closing the laceration to stop the bleeding and prevent infection. Deeper cuts may result in nerve damage and are best treated at the ER.
Possible Broken Bones
If you think you may have broken a bone, our urgent care clinics provide an x-ray service to determine if that is so. We provide splinting to protect the injury and will refer you to an orthopedist for any additional care. If you are in severe pain from a break, or see that the bone is penetrating through the skin, you should go to any emergency room
Sports Injuries
Whether you are a serious athlete or a “weekend warrior”, urgent care clinics can provide care when you are hurt. We are a convenient place to take care of sprains, strains, abrasions, etc suffered during your athletic endeavors. In the summer, we can help if you are overcome by heat-related stress.
Burns
Burns are another injury with varying degrees of severity. A walk-in clinic can provide relief and recovery for topical burns by providing appropriate care and treatment. Severe deep burns warrant medical attention at the ER, as these burns can cause permanent tissue damage.
